New process guide in Amberg: Support for families with disabilities

This year there was an important innovation in public youth welfare in the city of Amberg. Those responsible for these facilities are now legally obliged to create the role of a process pilot. This measure aims to improve support for children, teenagers and young adults affected by disabilities. Sandy Petzoldt, an experienced social worker with a master's degree, has taken on this responsible position.

The process guide reports directly to the management of the youth welfare office, which allows her a certain degree of independence in her work. Her primary focus is providing advice and support to families facing the challenges of disability. Sandy Petzoldt offers help with applying for integration assistance and accompanies those affected through the entire process, including possible objection procedures.

Voluntary support for those affected

An important aspect of Sandy Petzoldt's work is that access to her services is completely voluntary. Families can decide for themselves whether they want to take advantage of the support. This independence is crucial because it enables the process controller to work without external instructions, not even from the youth welfare office management.

For anyone who would like to find out more about the advisory services or needs support, Sandy Petzoldt can be reached at the email address verfahrenslotsen@amberg.de or sandy.petzoldt@amberg.de. Alternatively, interested parties can also contact us by phone at 09621/10-2130. She is available to answer questions and provide information about the services offered.

The introduction of this new position in child welfare is a step in the right direction to better meet the needs of families with disabled children. The city of Amberg shows that it takes the challenges that many families face seriously and is actively working on solutions.
