Tyrlaching informs: New concept for flash flood risk management

The flood disaster in the Ahr Valley and other regions has highlighted the urgency of the issue of flash flood risk management. A disaster was also declared in the Pfaffenhofen district in June 2024. These events show how important preventive measures are.

Integral concept for Tyrlaching

In 2020, the municipality of Tyrlaching commissioned the creation of an integral concept for municipal flash flood risk management. This was done in coordination with the Traunstein Water Management Office. The concept has now been completed. The engineering firm aquasoli from Siegsdorf has examined the effects of wild water runoff during heavy rain events. The streams throughout the municipality were examined.

Extensive maps were developed for various scenarios. This resulted in concrete proposals for measures for the municipality. These proposals should include technical measures to improve flood protection. Citizens can also do a lot to protect their property. It is important that they know their own concerns.

Citizens' meeting to present the concept

The concept with the results will be presented on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. in the Tyrlaching community hall. The event takes place in the Wirt z'Dirling. Citizens are cordially invited to participate. We ask for your understanding that no concrete statements can be made about individual properties and their problems this evening. This would go beyond the scope of the event.

The maps will be published on the municipal website after the event. This means that everyone who is interested has the opportunity to find out about the results.
