Celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the Meßnerskreith horticultural association
A big festival was celebrated in Meßnerskreith, and for good reason! The horticultural and local beautification association was able to celebrate several important anniversaries. On Assumption Day, not only the 70th anniversary of the association was honored, but also the 75th anniversary of the village band and the 50th anniversary of the district victory in the “Our village should become more beautiful” competition, which is now known under the title “Our village has a future”.
The celebrations began on August 15th with a musical start by the Tanngrindler musicians. Second Mayor Franz Brunner took over the patronage of the two days of celebration. In his speech, Christian Reisinger, the club's chairman, looked back on the beginnings and thanked everyone who contributed to winning the gold medal. He particularly remembered the deceased members who beautified the village with their work. A special thank you went to Michael Gietl, who led the renovation of the memorial stone for the district victory. After a mass in the 75-year-old village church, which was held by parish vicar Jean-Luc Kalala, a morning pint took place. Konrad Weinzierl, the deputy district chairman of the Horticulture and Landscape Conservation Association, congratulated those present with the words: “Anyone who owns a garden has everything they need.”
Honors for long-time members
Another highlight of the celebration was the honoring of long-standing members of the club. Ingrid Wehner and Maria Luft were honored for 25 years of membership. Günter Reisinger and Franz Gietl received recognition for 40 years. Reinhold Hölzl, Ludwig Berger and Dietmar Kral were honored for 50 years, while Siegfried Forster was recognized for an impressive 60 years of membership. Congratulations to all those honored!
The event was not only a look back at the club's successes, but also a celebration of the community and commitment that members have shown over the years. The atmosphere was festive and joyful, and participants enjoyed the opportunity to exchange ideas and celebrate the club's achievements.
