City triangle run: record amount of 4,500 euros raised for the food bank
The 14th City Triangle Run took place in Teublitz in August, an event that not only celebrates sporting achievements, but also makes a significant social contribution. Under the motto “Together to the finish line”, numerous participants laced up their running shoes to run for a good cause. The event managed to raise a record 4,500 euros for the food bank, underlining the importance of this initiative.
The fundraising campaign was made possible by the generous support of three banks, which donated €2.50 for every runner who crossed the finish line. This type of support is not new; The banks even increased their donations by one euro per participant compared to the previous year. This shows their commitment to the local community and the valuable work the table does in the region.
Symbolic check handover
The ceremonial handover of the check took place in the town hall of Teublitz, where the mayors of the participating cities, Thomas Beer, Thomas Gesche and Rudolf Seidl, came together to celebrate the success of the event. They expressed their gratitude for the continued support of the banks, which have made a significant contribution to financing the food bank for 14 years. During this time, a total of 36,500 euros were collected through donations, which illustrates the importance of this partnership.
The representatives of the banks, including Mathias Semmelmann from Volksbank-Raiffeisenbank Regensburg-Schwandorf eG, Sebastian Gehmacher from VR Bank Mittlere Oberpfalz eG and Tobias Eckl from Sparkasse in the Schwandorf district, were also present and emphasized how important it is for them to support the food bank. The Tafel employees accepted the check with great joy and thanked them warmly for the generous financial support.
This event shows how sport and social responsibility can go hand in hand. The Triangle City Run is not only a competition, but also a platform to raise awareness of the needs of the community while taking action. The collaboration between cities and banks is a great example of how local initiatives can bring about positive change.
