Amberg Adult Education Center: New semester starts with a wide range of courses

The Amberg Adult Education Center has big plans for the coming fall and winter semesters, which begin on September 23, 2024. With an extensive offering of approximately 280 courses, the educational institution covers a variety of topics of interest to citizens. Registrations start on September 10, 2024, which gives participants the opportunity to secure a place early.

Mayor Michael Cerny emphasizes the importance of the adult education center for the community. He describes the institution as a place that is accessible to everyone, regardless of social, national or religious backgrounds. This openness promotes social cohesion and is a central component of the educational offerings in Amberg.

Diverse course offerings

The new program offers a wide range of courses organized into different categories. In the social area there is a new offer for caring relatives entitled “Art is good for the soul”. In addition, exciting lectures and courses are offered on topics such as living wills, stocks and the stock market as well as current world events. The collaboration with the solar energy support association also brings with it interesting events.

In addition to the classic PC and Internet basic courses, modern topics such as hybrid working and cloud use are also represented in the professional field. A special highlight is the new online banking course, which is offered in cooperation with Sparkasse Amberg-Sulzbach. For technology enthusiasts, there are programming courses including “Micropython for Experienced” and “Scratch for Parents” that are suitable for both beginners and advanced users.

In the health area, new courses such as DanceStep and Flexi-Bar Workout, which are suitable for all fitness levels, have been added to the program. The cultural offerings not only include cooking courses, but also events such as the evenings with Peter Seidl in the boathouse, which deal with German poetry and colors. There is also a crime club that promises literary excitement.

The new program booklet, which contains all the details about the courses, will be available in various facilities such as doctors' practices and banks from August 29, 2024. As usual, registrations can be made online, by email or by telephone. The Amberg Adult Education Center is looking forward to welcoming many new and old participants in the coming semester.
