New parish hall in Hahnbach: A place for meeting and community
deanDr. Christian SchultzIn keeping with “Laetare” Sunday, the inauguration of the new parish hall in the former monastery of the Poor School Sisters opens with “rejoice”, a large congregation and a celebratory service. A project choir led by the organistRenate Werneraccompanies perfectly. Pastor Schulz emphasizes that the new meeting point is the second most important place in the community next to the church and that some eyes can be opened there, similar to the healing of a blind person.
Inauguration of the new parish hall
Countless parishioners then happily accepted the invitation to view the attractive new premises. The parish council and women's association have prepared a small but nice standing reception that received a lot of praise. deanDr. Christian Schultzwould also like to thank everyone who did a lot of preparation and cooperation. He surprises the parish secretary with a bouquet of flowersHannelore SchusterandDr. Birgit Braun, both of whom had to work in the building during construction and had a lot of patience and energy.
mayorBernhard Lindnercongratulates on the exemplary and perfect parish center and presents a market coat of arms. architectHeinrich Schwirzersums up the construction period and reports on the constant support, understanding, patience, trust and cooperation, thanks to which many difficulties were overcome.
Wishes for parish life
Like the previous speakers, Kirchenpfleger also emphasizedGeorge Munchthe always appreciative treatment of everyone involved. He also takes the many guests on a short journey back in time to the start of construction of the monastery 180 years ago. “What takes a long time will finally be good” beginsBrigitta Heidlinger, the spokeswoman for the parish council and wishes you a prosperous parish life in the new atmosphere. The blessing of the new premises by the deanDr. Christian Schultzjoins in.
Now the Catholic Church Foundation “St. Jakobus” has an attractive, spacious parish hall. In the former monastery of the Poor School Sisters, the first floor in the town center has been revitalized and enormously improved through this conversion and renovation after being vacant for 12 years.
Central importance for the community
The location of the building in the center of the town, right next to the parish church and other parish facilities, underlines its central importance for the ecclesiastical and secular community of Hahnbach. Essentially, the new parish hall will be available for parish events and church-active groups and associations.
The architect's office's initial plans extend into March 2016Heinrich Schwirzerback and after several administrative procedures, applications and measurements, the building permit was received on April 29, 2019. After the contract was awarded to primarily regional companies, the construction work began on June 15, 2021, which now came to a happy conclusion this February 2023.
Accessibility and security
Fortunately, the hall and toilets are barrier-free and easily accessible from the north thanks to a completely overhauled elevator. Maximum safety was also taken into account and so fire protection required, among other things, a separate escape staircase in the north outside the building.
The large hall and a small meeting room are equipped with modern communication and media technology, a built-in catering kitchen, a glare-free lighting concept and seating for a maximum of 140 people.
The early awarding of the individual trades was also highly praised, so that the calculated budget for the total costs of 1.4 million was not exceeded. We are also particularly grateful to the Episcopal Finance Chamber, which covered half of the total construction costs.
You would like to become HH BishopDr. Rudolf Voderholzerthank you personally for this, who will come to the deanery conference in the parish hall in a month.
