Honor for top athletes: Registrations required by November 29, 2024!

The athletes from the market town of Freihung are about to receive a special honor that will take place on March 14, 2025 in the Theuern Cultural Palace. From 6:00 p.m., outstanding achievements from the 2023/2024 winter sports season and the 2024 summer sports season will be honored. This event is a great opportunity to celebrate the athletes' achievements and reward their hard work.

The honor is aimed at athletes who have achieved notable achievements in various categories. These include, among other things, setting a German, European or world record as well as being awarded the Silver Laurel by the Federal President. Placements at the Bavarian and German championships are also important. To receive an honor, the championships must be recognized by the relevant organizations and at least six participants or teams must have taken part in the competitions.

Important information about reporting

The municipality asks all clubs and private individuals to register the athletes from Freihung who are eligible for an honor by November 29, 2024. This also applies to team titles, where the athletes involved must be listed by name. The required information includes the name, address, club name and the title won. The relevant reporting form can be requested from the municipal administration.

It is important to note that Gaumeister in shooting and Oberpfalzmeister in sports are not honored. However, the Upper Palatinate champion and state champion in shooting are of course included in the honor. This regulation is intended to ensure that the honor is reserved for the highest sporting achievements.
