Double help for Mering: Stadtsparkasse fundraiser started!

Today, November 21, 2025, Stadtsparkasse Augsburg is launching the generous fundraising campaign “We will double your donation!”. This initiative aims to financially support the work of AWO Mering. The campaign will be carried out until December 26, 2025 and will double donations up to 20,000 euros. Donors can receive a maximum of 200 euros per project, which is then doubled by the Stadtsparkasse.

AWO Mering urgently needs the funds for renovation and modernization measures at its clubhouse. Donations can be made either online or in a Stadtsparkasse branch. It is important that the intended purpose must be stated as “AWO Mering” so that the donations can be allocated accordingly. All donations are tax deductible; Up to an amount of 300 euros, these can be proven with a simple deposit receipt or bank statement.

Support from the Mering Foundation

The Foundation for Mering has already made a contribution in advance by supporting the AWO Mering local group with 1,000 euros. Mayor Florian Mayer, who is also chairman of the foundation board, presented the symbolic check to Jaromir Prohazka, chairman of the Meringer AWO local group. This financial support was used specifically for renovation work in the AWO home, especially for the purchase of paint.

The AWO home plays a central role in the community, as it is not only used for the AWO's own events, but also by other groups and associations for meetings. Mayor Mayer emphasized the need for these subsidies for the maintenance of the clubhouse. Further work is planned and AWO Mering is therefore asked for additional donations.
