Seniors' fair in Kastl: A festival full of music and magic
The third edition of the Senior Citizens' Fair recently took place in Kastl, an event that has established itself as an integral part of the community's calendar. Mayor Hans Walter, together with senior representatives Monika Fralix and Elisabeth Streng, invited all citizens aged 65 and over to spend an entertaining afternoon together. The parish hall was filled to capacity, which impressively demonstrated the popularity of this celebration among seniors.
The event offered a varied program that thrilled those present. The afternoon was accompanied musically by the band “Feierhaisl-Buam”, consisting of Maximilian Miedel and Sebastian Plössner. With their instruments, including drums, tuba and double bass, they played traditional melodies that encouraged many guests to sing and sway along. The happy atmosphere was noticeable throughout the hall and contributed to the convivial atmosphere.
A magical highlight
A special highlight of the afternoon was the appearance of the magician Marius Koslowski. He captivated viewers with his amazing tricks and charming humor. First, he presented two impressive shows on stage that amazed the audience. But that was just the beginning: Koslowski mingled with the guests and performed other tricks at the tables, which led to lively conversations. “How does he do that?” was the most common question heard that day, because even upon closer inspection his tricks remained a mystery.
At the end of the afternoon, Mayor Walter warmly thanked the musicians and the magician for their entertaining contributions, which made the seniors' fair an unforgettable experience. A special thank you went to the organizers Monika Fralix and Elisabeth Streng and their dedicated team who were responsible for the preparation and hospitality of the guests. Walter emphasized that without the volunteer support such an event would not be possible. Pastor Heribert Stretz and sexton Josef Weidner also received recognition for their support.
The seniors' fair in Kastl was once again very popular and had a high number of participants. However, it is still uncertain whether and how the event will continue next year. Mayor Walter announced that the historic Thanksgiving parade will take place on September 14, 2025, emphasizing the need for careful planning to avoid overlap with other celebrations. “We will certainly find a suitable date so that we can celebrate again next year,” he promised with a smile.
