Tegernheim riflemen celebrate kings: A night of honor and tradition!

On October 14, 2025, the annual honorary evening of the Regensburg North Rifle Section took place in the Federl-Scheck inn, where the new majesties were chosen and deserving members were honored. The Tegernheim shooters were particularly successful. Florian Kreuzer was crowned section shooting king in the shooting class, while Wolfgang Kollmannsberger won the title of air pistol shooting king in the open class. The local shooters were duly congratulated and celebrated for their achievements. This is reflected in the invitation that was addressed to all active members and friends of the shooting tradition. This festival is an important part of the community and contributes to strengthening the tradition of shooting, which not only includes sporting aspects but also combines social elements. The Regensburg-Nord rifle section was also able to enjoy success in the youth category. Sonja Poser from the Alte Burg Donaustauf became youth king in air rifle shooting for the third time in a row. Louis Ebneth, who acts as the LG section king, had two other co-regents at his side: Thomas Singer and Markus Wagner. This year's evening of honor took place in the Arberhüttn restaurant, where members and guests enjoyed the festive atmosphere. Among the air pistol shooters, Richard Zlamal from the Linden Regensburg received the traditional chain, while Stefan Wartl-Steiner and the section leader Peter Grillmayer took on the role of his deputies. Tradition and community

Shooting in Germany has a long tradition that has developed over the centuries and reflects various social changes. It unites people regardless of age, gender, origin or religious belief in communal activities that are based on the principles of cooperation and togetherness. Today, the shooting festival, often the highlight of the year, is an occasion where the shooting king or queen is determined through the traditional king bird shooting. Such festivals are celebrated with processions and parades in which the shooters appear in uniform costumes and with club badges, which strengthens the social cohesion of the community. ( UNESCO )

Community celebrations such as balls, morning pints and open-air concerts shape club life and create close bonds between members. The variety of local customs and rituals at shooting festivals makes each event unique and reflects the cultural identity of the region. Smaller towns are particularly characterized by shooting associations, whose customs represent an important part of social and cultural life. By honoring the kings and members, the commitment and passion of the shooters is always recognized and consolidated, which keeps the shooting sport alive. ( UNESCO )
