Markt Regenstauf welcomes 14 new trainees for the daycare centers!
On September 1, 2025, the Regenstauf market welcomed a total of 14 new trainees to its daycare centers. These trainees are trained in various training areas such as educators, childcare workers and childcare workers. The market is pleased about the young people who are committed to educational work, and Mayor Josef Schindler expressed his joy about the interest of young people in working with children. The new trainees were given best wishes for a successful start and valuable experiences, as [Regenstauf](https://www.regenstauf.de/communice-news/news/artikel/der-markt-regenstauf-begruesst-neue-aus trainees-in-den-kindertagesstätten-625) reports.
The teacher training at the Academy for Social Education, which also forms part of the training of these new trainees, lasts a total of three years. The training is divided into two years of school education and one year of internship. During their school years, trainees acquire skills in various areas, including pedagogy, psychology, physical education, and literature and media education. These practical experiences are also supplemented by internships at primary schools or in holiday/leisure care, as the Bavarian Ministry of Social Affairs explains.
Broadband training for a wide range of professional fields
The training is designed as a “broad-spectrum training” and qualifies graduates for various social professional fields. In addition to daycare centers, possible fields of activity also include areas such as youth welfare, assistance for the disabled, adult education and advice. At the end of the two school years there are examinations and additional (technical) university entrance qualifications can be acquired through a state supplementary examination. During their school training, trainees also have the opportunity to apply for benefits under the Advancement BAföG. Since August 2020, the AFBG has been amended so that those on full-time support can receive a full subsidy, which is proving to be a great support for aspiring skilled workers.
In the background of these developments, there has been a significant expansion of the early education training system in recent years. Training to become educators is particularly affected by this expansion. In the 2022/23 school year, almost 42,000 people took part in these training courses, which corresponds to around twice as many trainees as in 2007/08. This training mainly takes place at technical schools for social pedagogy and is the central qualification profile for work in daycare centers, as Skills Barometer states.
In summary, it can be said that by welcoming its new trainees, the Regenstauf market is taking an important step towards a committed and qualified specialist base in the field of early childhood education. The support through various training opportunities and funding underlines the importance that early childhood education has in society today.
