Repair Café Neutraubling: Successful premiere inspires citizens
The repair café in Neutraubling opened successfully on October 5th. The offer was actively used on the first day of opening. A number of devices were repaired thanks to the volunteers.
Repair Café offers help
What to do if the vacuum cleaner or coffee machine stops working? The defective sewing machine is gathering dust in the basement and repairing it in a specialist shop is too expensive? With the Repair Café Neutraubling there is now an answer to this. Every first Saturday of the month, citizens can have broken everyday objects checked and, if possible, repaired by volunteers.
Dedicated helpers
Ten volunteers have already come together following a call from the Urban Development Project Office. They support the repair café with their technical expertise or bake cakes and help with the distribution. On the first day of opening, 15 people took advantage of the offer and came with various devices such as printers, hedge trimmers, vacuum cleaners, video recorders, cool boxes, steam cleaners, irons and lamps that no longer worked properly or even at all.
Successful repairs
A number of devices could actually be repaired. Even a pair of torn jeans was sewn again. The “customers” were enthusiastic and thanked us with a donation. A total of around 180 euros was raised, which will now be used to purchase tools.
Next appointment
The next appointment for the Repair Café is Saturday, November 2nd from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. It can be found in the lunchtime care room in the Schlesische Straße 46 shopping center.
