Topping-out ceremony for the new fire station in Kareth: Construction is going according to plan!

The topping-out ceremony for the Kareth fire department's new equipment house was celebrated on October 28, 2025. Representatives of the companies involved in the construction, First Mayor Christian Hauner and the planning team were present to acknowledge this important step in the fire department's construction history. Mayor Hauner warmly welcomed those present and emphasized the importance of the project for the community.

Martin Kowalli from the Kowalli engineering office reported that the work was proceeding on time and within budget. The tenders for the main trades have already been completed and the construction work is currently being carried out. The last smaller awards are scheduled to take place in December 2025. Mayor Hauner and commander of the Kareth fire department, Andreas Zankl, expressed optimism about the progress and hope that the project will continue to progress smoothly.

The motto and the symbolism of the building project

The topping-out ceremony was given by foreman Bernhard Wild from the Steininger construction company. A topping-out tree was erected, but was immediately removed after the ceremony so work could continue on the roof. The new construction project for the equipment shed not only symbolizes the improvement of the security structures, but also an important step towards strengthening the sense of community in Kareth.

In a similar context, the topping out ceremony for the new fire station in Wilmersdorf took place on September 15, 2025, where carpenter Frank Szcuzka from Rettschlag Bau GmbH spoke the topping out and Mayor Ute Ehrhardt put the final nail. This project, part of a double project, also includes the modernization of the village community center and is an example of community cohesion and progress in the security infrastructure.

The construction in Wilmersdorf includes the creation of two standard parking spaces for modern emergency vehicles, modern changing rooms and showers. In addition, a direct connection to the village community center will be created to enable shared use. Such projects are crucial for optimizing security structures and strengthening the social fabric in the respective communities.

With the completion of the new tool shed in Kareth and the parallel projects in Wilmersdorf, a strong signal for safety and community is being sent beyond the region. The progress of both construction projects illustrates the need and commitment to a modern and efficient infrastructure for the fire departments.
