Training as a road guard: Apply now in Bernhardswald!

The municipality of Bernhardswald has published a job advertisement for a training position as a road guard, which is aimed at anyone interested. The start of the training is set for September 1, 2026 and covers a training period of three years, which takes place both at the Bernhardswald construction yard and at the vocational school in Würzburg. The training takes place in the form of a dual system that combines theory and practice. As part of the courses, inter-company courses are also offered at the Gerolzhofen road maintenance department.

The central tasks during the training include setting up and maintaining traffic signs, working on winter road services and acquiring knowledge about occupational safety, accident prevention and environmental protection. Another important point is obtaining a class CE driving license, the costs of which are covered by the training company. Working with modern vehicles and equipment, maintaining all parts of the road and maintaining green spaces also play an important role in the training.

Expectations of the applicants

Applicants for the training position should have at least a secondary, secondary or secondary school diploma. In addition, medical fitness is required to obtain a class CE driving license. Technical understanding, manual skills and a quick comprehension are also an advantage. Commitment and a sense of responsibility as well as enjoyment of varied tasks round off the profile of the desired candidates.
