Review of the Citizens Energy Prize 2025
The 2025 Citizens Energy Award ceremony took place last year in the Upper Palatinate administrative region. A total of 10,000 euros in prize money was awarded. Some notable projects were honored: The Max-Ulrich-von-Drechsel-Realschule in Regenstauf received the prize for its sustainability and energy efficiency program. Nahwärme Gibbach-Atzmannsricht eG was awarded for an approximately 10 kilometer long local heating pipeline that supplies over 110 households. In addition, the St. Leonhard Maxhütte children's home was honored for its teaching of energy awareness in early childhood. The award underlined the commitment of the people in the Upper Palatinate to the energy transition and recognized the diversity and local roots of the supported projects, such as ropf.bayern.de highlights.
The Citizens' Energy Prize Upper Palatinate 2026 continues this tradition in order to promote innovative and sustainable projects again this year and to strengthen environmental awareness in the region.
