The Vohenstrauß Parish Community has launched an exciting initiative that invites citizens to donate their old clothing for a good cause. On Saturday, October 19, 2024, anyone who would like to clean out their closets can stop by the parking lot of the Vohenstrauß town hall from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and hand in any clothes they no longer need.
Details about the old clothing collection
The collection is a great opportunity to not only free up space in your closet, but also do something good. All types of women's, men's and children's clothing are accepted. Shoes bundled in pairs are also welcome, as are leather goods, jackets, coats, belts, hats, bags, gloves and even bed linens, curtains and towels. It is important that the donated items are clean and dry. Donations should be packed in large plastic bags, such as garbage bags, and tightly sealed.
There are special collection points for residents of the surrounding outskirts, which are noted in the parish bulletin and on flyers. These donations should also be made available at the collection points by 8.30 a.m. on the collection day at the latest, as the collection service with the collection vehicles starts at this time. This means that even those who cannot come to the town hall have the opportunity to make their donations.
The proceeds from this collection of old clothes go directly to the parish's youth work. The collected clothing items are used to support the activities and projects of the altar boys. For the city of Vohenstrauß, the town hall is the central collection point.
