New construction of the Woffenbach primary school: City of Neumarkt secures property

The city of Neumarkt has taken a significant step towards education and infrastructure. In a quick process, Mayor Markus Ochsenkühn was able to acquire a property from the Klebl company that covers an area of around 15,000 m². This property is located in the Woffenbach district, directly on Hochstrasse and opposite the BSC Woffenbach sports grounds. The purchase is linked to the condition that a new school building is built there.

The old elementary school location, built in 1962, 1967 and 1975, has significant deficiencies. The structural conditions are no longer up to date, especially in terms of energy standards, technical equipment and accessibility. It was therefore urgent to find a solution that meets the modern requirements of a school.

Feasibility study and new building plans

In April, a feasibility study was presented to the city council that examined the options for renovating or building a new elementary school. After extensive discussion, the city council decided in favor of the new building, which will also include an area for afternoon care and a triple gym. The necessary procedures for land-use planning were initiated in June so as not to slow down progress.

Mayor Ochsenkühn expressed optimism about the development and the support from Werner Klebl, who paved the way for the project with his signature. The project will be presented again at the next October meeting of the city council, with the focus being on topics such as the need for care, the scope of the project and the financial framework. Depending on the decision, the first steps towards awarding construction contracts could then be initiated.

The signing of the contract between Mayor Markus Ochsenkühn and Werner Klebl marks an important milestone for the city of Neumarkt and its educational infrastructure. The new school building will not only meet current needs, but also provide a modern learning environment for future generations.
