SV Gleissenberg-Lixenried: Honors and challenges at the annual meeting
The Gleißenberg-Lixenried sports club recently held its annual meeting in the Gasthaus Zum Grisl, where the first chairman Michael Greil welcomed those present. Honorary members and Mayor Wolfgang Daschner were also among the guests. After a moment of remembrance for deceased members, Greil gave an overview of the club's current situation. With 436 members, the association has reached a considerable size and the administration has developed accordingly. Investments were also made in the sports fields and tennis courts, and there were numerous celebrations for milestone birthdays.
A central topic of the meeting was the urgently needed renovation or new construction of the sports center. Greil explained that the board was confronted with sharply increased construction costs, which made planning considerably more difficult. Concrete decisions are not possible at the moment and it will take some time before a solution can be found. Greil thanked everyone who supports the club and concluded his report.
Financial situation and honors
Andy Bäumler presented the financial report, which showed that architects' fees were the largest expenditure, which led to a deficit last year. The auditors Klaus Plötz, Alfons Greil and Hans Bierl confirmed proper financial management and were re-elected. Reports on the club's various sports were then presented, including dancing, children's gymnastics and football.
Mayor Daschner also commented and regretted the low number of participants at the meeting. He praised the work of the marketing committee and emphasized the need to continue planning for the sports center, even if this will take time. He also mentioned the possibility of participating in the state horticultural show in Furth im Wald.
As part of the awards, long-standing members were honored: Sabrina Meierhofer and others received the award for 20 years of membership, while Eduard Gruber Jr. received the award for 30 years. and others were honored. There were also honors for 40 and 50 years of membership.
Changes and outlook
Another item on the agenda was the abolition of the divisional fee for tennis. Greil explained that this would not entail any financial disadvantages for the club as there would no longer be any active gaming operations. The majority voted for abolition. Greil also provided information about the defective pump in the irrigation system for the football fields and presented various possible solutions. The meeting agreed that a request should be made to the BLSV to subsidize the costs. The meeting ended with a factual discussion about the upcoming measures.
