50 years of love: Erika and Rudi See celebrate their golden wedding anniversary

Erika and Rudi See look back on half a century full of shared experiences. Your secret for a harmonious marriage? “Respect, gratitude and a positive attitude,” they say. On September 17th they want to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in a small circle, completely relaxed and without much fuss.

The wedding day itself will be spent in the picturesque Bavarian Forest, where the couple wants to enjoy nature and togetherness. Their civil wedding took place on a special date: Friday, September 13th, 1974. Just one day later, on Saturday, September 14th, they exchanged vows in the Sankt Johannis Church in Rosenberg.

The beginnings of their love

Erika, born in Rosenberg in 1954, and Rudi, who comes from Hochstadt near Hanau, met at the Sulzbacher Dult. It was May 31, 1973, an Ascension Day that remains unforgettable for both of them. “It was love at first sight,” they remember. Just a year later they were already standing at the altar and have since overcome many ups and downs together.

After his muster, Rudi served in the Navy for six months before deciding to do civilian service. This took him to the orphanage in Rosenberg, where he worked as an educator. “Theoretically I was a bus driver, but in practice I did a lot more,” he says proudly. The connection to his former protégés still exists today.

Erika began her professional career as a stenographer and office clerk at Luitpoldhütte before moving to Maxhütte. After the birth of her first son Alexander and later her second son Robert, she worked in the riot police in Sulzbach-Rosenberg from 1992 to 2015 in the area of training and further education.

Rudi worked in quality management until 2015 and volunteered as a works council member at Grammer in Haselmühl. Since their retirement, the two have enjoyed the freedom that their pension offers them. They have already traveled to many countries, including Iceland, Norway and Italy, but they also really appreciate the tranquility of the Bavarian Forest.

When asked what they value about each other, Erika emphasizes Rudi's kindness and empathy. Rudi, in turn, praises Erika's reliability and her loving nature. “She is my best friend and a strong partner,” he says with a smile.

Evi Höllerer, the third mayor of Hahnbach, brought congratulations on the golden wedding anniversary. She presented the couple with a certificate, a flower stick and a fine wine. Your wishes for the future are health, happiness and contentment.
