New traffic routing on the town square: Christmas market brings changes
A changed traffic route will apply to the Christmas market in Aichach from the construction phase onwards. This regulation comes into force from November 20, 2024 to January 10, 2025. The town square will be closed to through traffic during this time.
Changes in traffic routing
The traffic closure, which previously only applied at weekends, will now be extended to the entire Christmas market period. This also applies to the time of assembly and dismantling. The city of Aichach has decided to completely close the passage from the hospital church to the town hall. Access to the Upper Town Square continues via the Upper Gate. Contrary to the previous regulations, traffic will then be routed through Koppoldstrasse to Steubstrasse.
The one-way system for Koppoldstrasse will be reversed. From Schlossplatz and Steubstrasse you can no longer drive towards Oberer Stadtplatz. The access via the Untere Tor and the Tandlmarkt remains unchanged.
Special regulations during the Advent calendar
During the opening of the windows on the town hall advent calendar, access to and from the Tandlmarkt will be closed daily from December 1st to 24th from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
