Picture book cinema with puppet theater

On October 26, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. a special picture book cinema entitled “Lotte” will take place in the Bürgersaal. Here the dog lady Lotte is introduced, who doesn't feel like tidying up her playroom. Instead, she would like the picture book narrator Andrea von Lieven to tell her what the little listeners can look forward to. The puppet theater will also be part of this reading, and the audience can experience funny moments together and discover the diversity of imagination. Another participant, Tania Schnagl, will offer the children magical experiences.

These events are part of the district cultural series “Spielräume” and are supported by KiW. They aim to make reading aloud an engaging experience. The concept of the picture book cinema, in which illustrations are projected onto the wall, has now proven itself to actively involve children in the stories. Scientific evidence shows that the combination of hearing and seeing helps to promote children's concentration and makes it easier to access stories. Kindergartens, schools and libraries often lack visual accompaniment during reading events, which is why the picture book cinema emerged as an innovative solution.

The large image display allows children to better perceive details and integrate them into their understanding. This concept not only promotes children's communication skills but also expands their vocabulary. The events in Wörth not only offer an entertaining reading experience, but also contribute to the linguistic and emotional development of the children.

For further information and to register to take part in the events, those interested can visit the official website of the city of Wörth: City of Worth.
