Ceremonial reopening of the multi-purpose hall in Weiden

The city of Weiden i.d.OPf. has reached a significant milestone: the multi-purpose hall was ceremoniously reopened after extensive partial renovation. Mayor Jens Meyer emphasized at the inauguration ceremony that this day was the result of years of planning and hard work by many involved. Present were not only representatives of the city administration, but also members of the clergy, politicians and associations, all of whom contributed to the realization of this project.

The multi-purpose hall, which now meets modern requirements, should be a place for togetherness. Meyer emphasized that the numerous votes and meetings that took place in recent years were essential to designing the hall in its current form. “We now have a space that offers a variety of uses,” he said, inviting citizens to actively use the hall and fill it with life.

Inauguration ceremony and festivities

After the mayor's speech, architect Manfred Schwemmer presented the details of the project. The ceremonial inauguration was accompanied by a blessing of the hall by Pastor Johannes Lukas and Pastor Stefanie Endruweit. The event was accompanied by music from the Augustinus-Gymnasium big band, while students from the business school provided additional entertainment with dance performances.

The total costs for the renovation measures amount to around 2.7 million euros. This investment is intended not only to improve the city's infrastructure, but also to create a space that can be used for various events and activities. The city administration hopes that the multi-purpose hall will become a vibrant center for the community.
