From September 2024, a significant step in water supply will be taken in Waldershof: the replacement of the old water meters is imminent. This measure is necessary because the current meters no longer meet the current standards according to the calibration law. Instead, modern radio meters are installed that enable more efficient reading.
The city administration will write to all affected households directly to inform them of the upcoming exchange. It is important that residents allow water utility staff access to the water meter systems. These employees are equipped with ID cards to identify themselves. Landlords should also inform their tenants about this process to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
Details about the exchange process
The water meters are owned by the city of Waldershof and have a lifespan of six years. After this period has expired, they must be replaced. The new ultrasonic water meters, which will be installed from 2024, offer a service life of 12 years and many advantages over previous mechanical meters. These modern devices enable more precise readings and help increase efficiency.
A special water meter bracket is required to install the new meters. It is recommended to check whether such a bracket already exists before replacing.
