New advisory service at MGH Wackersdorf: support for educators

Returning to work after parental leave can be a real challenge for many. To make this transition easier, the Schwandorf job center has launched a new advisory service. This takes place once a month in the multi-generational house in Wackersdorf and is aimed specifically at parents who are looking for support when returning to work.

Christine Feicht, the representative for equal opportunities in the labor market at the job center, has listed some of the most common questions that parents have in this situation. "What are my career options? What financial help can I take advantage of? And how do I find the right childcare?" are just some of the topics discussed in the consultations. Feicht emphasizes that the advice is individually tailored to meet the specific needs of the educators. “It’s often about reducing fears and making new contacts,” she explains.

A low-threshold offer

Dominique Gottwald, the managing director of the Schwandorf job center, emphasizes that the new offer was deliberately designed so that it is easily accessible for everyone. “We want educators to have the opportunity to get advice in their area,” says Gottwald. The multi-generational house in Wackersdorf offers the ideal space for this. Stephanie Staudenmayer, the manager of the house, adds: “We are also working on a new advisory structure that goes beyond what the job center offers.”

From October 8th, anyone interested can come to the multi-generation house in Wackersdorf, Hauptstraße 15, every first Tuesday of the month from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The consultations will initially take place in the premises of the open all-day school on the ground floor. For further information, the Schwandorf Job Center website is available, where you can also find detailed information about the offers.
