Hike to Egidiberg: Discover Schwandorf's history
On Sunday, October 20th, the city of Schwandorf invites you to a guided hiking tour called “AFFÉ UND OINE”. This event promises not only sporting activity, but also an exciting discovery tour through the history and nature around the Egidiberg.
The Egidiberg, which rises west of Schwandorf, is a popular destination for hikers. The view from up there is breathtaking and, when the weather is clear, extends into the Bavarian Forest. But the tour offers more than just a beautiful view. On the Karlheinz-Bink-Weg, participants can explore impressive rocks and shady forest paths. There is also a picturesque view of the Ettmannsdorf district, where the House of the Good Shepherd and the Hammer Castle can be seen.
Details about the hike
The hike covers a distance of around 6 kilometers and takes participants along the Naab back to Schwandorf. The entire tour lasts approximately two hours, making it an ideal activity for a Sunday afternoon. The fee for participation is 7.00 euros, reduced 5.00 euros, which makes the event accessible to many.
The meeting point for the hike is at 2:00 p.m. at the tourist office at Kirchengasse 1. However, those interested should register in good time as places are limited. Registrations can be made by phone on 09431 45550 or by email tourismus@schwandorf.de possible.
This guided tour is an excellent opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature while learning more about local history. Whether you are an experienced hiker or a newbie, the event offers something for everyone.
