Nittenau Christmas market 2024: A festival for the whole family
The popular Nittenau Christmas market will take place again on Kirchplatz from December 6th to 8th. The market is attracting many visitors this year with a record number of stalls. There is a diverse program for young and old.
Opening of the Christmas market
The Christmas market will be opened on Friday at 6 p.m. by the First MayorBenjamin Bomlas well as the Christ child, Santa Claus and the St. Monika kindergarten opened. Afterwards, the children can look forward to sweets distributed by Santa Claus and the Christ child (6.30 p.m.). The town band will provide a festive musical setting at 7.30 p.m. before the evening ends at 8.30 p.m. with a “late shift” in the parish church. The first day ends at 10 p.m.
program on Saturday
Saturday begins at 4 p.m. with a performance by Kita St. Josef and Santa Claus and Christ Child distributing sweets to the young visitors. At 4:30 p.m., guests can enjoy an MTV dance performance and watch a chainsaw demonstration. Children and families are then invited to take part in a hands-on story in the parish hall at 5:30 p.m. The trombone choir of the Protestant parish rounds off the evening musically before the day officially ends at 10 p.m.
Sunday highlights
The program starts on Sunday at 3 p.m. with a performance by the Regenbogen Children's House. Santa Claus and Christ Child will be at the Christmas market from 3:30 p.m. A chainsaw demonstration at 4 p.m. and a concert by “Voices in Joy” at 4:30 p.m. (tickets 12 euros, reduced price 10 euros) in the parish church are just a few of the highlights of Sunday. Another hands-on story in the parish hall (5 p.m.) and a dance performance by MTV (5:30 p.m.) conclude the program. The Christmas market closes its doors for this year at 8 p.m.

The program is again supplemented by a children's Christmas market between the church and the parish hall. There will be a variety of activities by the Nittenau and Bergham volunteer fire departments and the altar boys on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, a craft room for children is organized in the parish hall, which is open on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Christmas market organizerBirgit Auburgerhas also come up with another special highlight: the “Nittenau children help children in need” campaign. “On all days, self-made stars can be purchased at various stands for a donation,” said the organizer: “The profits will then be donated to the BR Sternstunden.”
