Active Trail opens: Nittenau students move more!

A new exercise course is inaugurated at Nittenau elementary school. The “Active Trail” is intended to offer students more exercise. The school family and the parents' council worked to improve the school yard last school year. It was decided to install the trail under the motto “Less cell phone time, more exercise”.

Fundraiser for the Active Trail

In December 2023, the parents' council, represented byThomas Hochmuth, a fundraiser. 30 private individuals as well as companies and medical practices supported the campaign. “Thanks to the immense willingness to donate, we collected 13,000 euros,” reportsDiana Neidhardt, the headmistress, on October 23, 2024. On this day, the official inauguration of the play park took place in the presence of numerous donors.

Thanks to the supporters

Diana Neidhardthighlights the work of the Nittenau building yard. He was responsible for preparing the pitch and setting up fall protection.Benjamin Boml, the first mayor, joins in the words of thanks and praises the parents' council for the initiative. The primary school students made colorful posters as a thank you and personally handed them over to the supporters.

A meeting place for the students

The new play elements are not only used intensively during breaks, but also before lessons and in daycare. The student representatives of the Nittenau elementary and middle school confirm that the children now have a meeting place: “The girls and boys play together there and new friendships are made.”

Other school projects

In addition to the inauguration of the Active Trail, the elementary and middle school implemented another project. Four new bicycles were purchased for traffic lessons. These bikes specifically benefit second and third grade students.Eva Wagner, the deputy headmistress, thanks the Nittenau traffic police andSeb’s bike projectfor sponsoring the bicycles and helmets: “The money is very well spent because it serves the safety and mobility of our children.”
