40 years of the Maxhütte-Haidhof advertising association: strengthening local purchasing power
The Maxhütte-Haidhof advertising association is celebrating a remarkable anniversary this year: 40 years of dedicated work for the local economy. This community has made it its mission to highlight the strengths of trade, crafts, service providers and gastronomy in the region and to introduce citizens to the advantages of shopping locally.
With currently 40 member companies, the advertising association is an integral part of economic life in Maxhütte-Haidhof. Since its founding in 1984, it has launched numerous campaigns that stimulate local business. Whether spring or autumn exhibitions, competitions or joint advertising campaigns - the variety of offers has been successfully presented for four decades. The community also acts as an interest group for its members and is an important mouthpiece for the authorities.
A look into history
The advertising community was founded on October 3, 1984 in the Hüttenschänke. Herbert Karthäuser took over the chairmanship at that time, while Helmut Treml acted as his deputy. Just one year later, the first spring exhibition was organized, which met with great interest. In the same year, a Christmas exhibition followed, which brought citizens closer to the variety of local offerings. The advertising community has managed to show people how many shopping options and services are available right on their doorstep.
In 1995, Hans Helfer took over the management and celebrated the tenth anniversary with the community with a large exhibition. In the years that followed, the advertising association remained a reliable partner for its members, especially at events such as community festivals and the popular children's festival Sunday.
Modern approaches and future plans
In 2016 there was a change in leadership: Julia Krempl took over as chairman and provided new impulses. The community has also evolved digitally by setting up its own website and using social media for its communication. A highlight of the campaigns is the “Maxhütter-Sternstunden” competition, which has been an integral part of the community since 1990 and offers citizens the opportunity to win vouchers.
Chairwoman Krempl describes the collaboration with the city of Maxhütte-Haidhof as consistently positive. She emphasizes the support from the city and the mayor's regular participation in the meetings. For the future, the advertising association plans not only to continue existing campaigns, but also to develop new ideas to further increase the attractiveness of the shopping location.
