A farewell with recognition: Josef Beer is retiring after 33 years

Josef Beer, a familiar name in the Burglengenfeld construction yard, has retired after 33 years of loyal service. The farewell took place in mid-September in a warm atmosphere, surrounded by colleagues who valued his many years of cooperation. Stadtwerke board member Johannes Ortner gave a moving speech in which he highlighted Beer's significant contributions to the city.

“You were an excellent carpenter who could always be relied on,” said Ortner, emphasizing Beer’s reliability and expertise. These qualities have made Beer an indispensable part of the team, and his work will remain visible in the city for a long time.

A life for craftsmanship

Josef Beer, who grew up in Burglengenfeld, successfully completed his training as a carpenter at the Fischer company in Schmidmühlen. In 1992 he joined the city of Burglengenfeld and found his calling in the construction yard, which has been under the management of the municipal utility since 2002. His skills as a craftsman have helped keep many of the city's public facilities in top condition.

“When you drive through Burglengenfeld, you see traces of your work everywhere,” noted Ortner. Whether it's redesigned playgrounds, repaired benches or the salt storage hall, Beer's commitment has had a lasting impact on the city. Especially during winter service, he ensured that the roads remained safe and passable.

Ortner also spoke on behalf of the citizens and thanked Beer for his tireless commitment to public service. He wished him all the best for the future and mentioned Beer's passion for music. He has been playing the trumpet with the Dietldorf brass band for almost 50 years and has been involved in various music groups.

The farewell party was attended by other colleagues, including staff council chairman Gerhard Greiner and building yard manager Johann Reif. To give Beer a lasting memory, he received a souvenir photo with the entire team as well as a collection of press articles documenting his achievements over the years.
