Decoration of honor for Burglengenfelder: Prime Minister recognizes commitment

Last Friday, in the atrium of the Bavarian Ministry of Finance in Nuremberg, the Bavarian Prime Minister's Decoration of Honor was awarded to two outstanding personalities from Burglengenfeld:Dr. Sigrid Ullwer-PaulandVolker Schmidt. Both are prime ministersDr. Markus Söderfor their extraordinary commitment and their long-standing contributions in various areas of society.

Commitment to the community

Dr. Sigrid Ullwer-Paulis honored for her remarkable commitment to the Sudeten German community and her tireless work in the field of intercultural dialogue. As a committed comrade-in-arms, she works to preserve and pass on the history and culture of the Sudeten Germans beyond the borders of the Schwandorf district. Particularly noteworthy is her many years of activity in organizing events that preserve cultural heritage and promote exchange between Sudeten German descendants and younger generations.

Volker Schmidt, an active member of the Dietldorf brass band, is being honored for his outstanding work in the field of music and youth work. He has been a musician in the brass band since 1985 and has been a member of the club's board for more than 25 years. In 2010 he took over the management of the brass band as musical director and conductor. Despite his professional commitments, he devotes much of his free time on weekends to rehearsals and performances. Through his tireless efforts, he has made a decisive contribution to ensuring that the Dietldorf brass band plays a central role in the region, not only musically but also socially.
