Energy transition in focus: Citizen information about the power grid in Wörth on January 29th!

On January 29, 2026, an important citizen information event will take place in the B7 business park in Wörth an der Donau. Organized by the Regensburg Energy Agency in cooperation with the Technology Campus Wörth-Wiesent, the event aims to promote understanding of the complex relationships between electricity generation and power grids. A central concern is to shed light on the influence of the energy transition on the German electricity system.

The event is led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Otto Kreutzer, an expert from the Technology Campus Wörth-Wiesent. He will talk about the role of renewable energies, especially wind and solar power, and explain how the electricity mix is changing in Germany. The growing share of renewable energies and their importance for the stability and efficiency of the power grid are discussed. Prof. Kreutzer will also present innovations for future power grids and provide information on current and future projects at the Technology Campus.

Topic and target group

The event is aimed at all citizens who would like to learn more about the challenges of the energy transition and the associated changes in the electricity system. In addition to general education, the event aims to create a discussion platform on which questions about the electricity system and energy transition can be answered.

The cooperation with the Regensburg district, the Wörth-Wiesent business park, the ILE Vorderer Bayerischer Wald and the municipality of Brennberg underline the relevance of the topic and the involvement of local actors. To take part in the event, registration is required, which can be done via the Energy Agency Regensburg website here.
