Caretaker wanted: Apply now and become part of the Wenzenbach community!

The municipality of Wenzenbach is currently looking for a caretaker (m/f/d) to strengthen its team. This full-time position is particularly versatile and requires independent organization as well as the care and monitoring of municipal properties. This includes the town hall, schools, daycare centers, event buildings and rental properties. The comprehensive tasks include inspection work and the maintenance of technical systems, as well as working in the local building yard and supporting winter service.

Interested applicants should have completed training, for example as a system mechanic for plumbing, heating and air conditioning technology, or comparable technical training. In addition, good manual skills, technical understanding and a valid Class B driving license are required. The willingness to work outside of regular working hours, such as weekend shifts, is also important. The community requires careful and reliable work, initiative and the ability to work in a team.

Framework conditions offered

The municipality offers the new employees a permanent job in a varied field of activity. Payment is made in accordance with the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD), whereby a labor market allowance and annual special payments are also offered. The attractive additional benefits include a company pension plan, further training opportunities and the option of e-bike or bicycle leasing.

The application deadline ends on October 6, 2025. Applications should be sent directly to Mr. Leistner at Hauptstraße 40 in Wenzenbach or can be sent by email to personal@wenzenbach.de. If you have any questions, Mr. Leistner is available on 09407/309-114. Please note that application documents should only be submitted in copies and will not be returned.

In Germany there is no specific training course in the public service for the position of caretaker. Trained craftsmen such as electronics technicians, carpenters or painters are usually hired. Other names for caretakers include building supervisor, facility manager or caretaker. The tasks in this professional field are varied, including checking properties, supervising cleaning services and small repair work. The remuneration can vary between pay groups 3 and 8 of the collective agreement depending on qualifications and responsibility.

Caretakers enjoy a special position in the public service; school caretakers in particular receive a specific classification in pay groups 5 to 8 of the TVöD due to their tasks. However, these positions generally require at least three years of professional qualifications and an extended police clearance certificate.

Additional job offers for caretakers in various cities demonstrate the high demand in this professional field. Public sector jobs often offer permanent employment and stable working relationships, making these professions particularly attractive. Further job offers were published in cities such as Bensheim, Neubiberg, Nuremberg, Dortmund, Recklinghausen, Berlin and Stuttgart.

For anyone interested in a position in the public sector, applying in Wenzenbach is a promising opportunity to get involved in a varied and stable working environment. For further information, the following pages are helpful: Wenzenbach, Municipal forum, and Rapid job.
