Roundabout in Sinzing: traffic chaos threatens in October!

In Sinzing, construction work on the new roundabout on Bruckdorfer Straße and St2394 is progressing according to plan. As the municipality of Sinzing reports in its current report, the asphalt surface layer will be installed in the week around October 3rd, 2025. To make this work possible, the junction will be fully closed from September 29th to October 5th, 2025, starting at 6:30 a.m. Diversions are signposted locally, with the main diversion route taking via Bahnhofstrasse.

During the full closure, the ban on passage on Laberstrasse will be lifted, but only in one-way traffic heading west. The traffic lights at the intersection had to be adjusted because there were traffic problems caused by drivers trying to pass through the intersection when it was yellow. In addition, the effects of the full closure on local public transport in Viehhausen and Sinzing are significant. RVV line 26 is being rerouted and cannot serve several stops, including Sinzing Am Reitfeld and Laberbrücke. Adjustments to school trips are also necessary in order to reach stops in the Viehhausen area.

Current status of construction work

Work on the new roundabout is in full swing. According to the CSU, important construction phases have already been completed. The basic structure is visible and the retaining wall and the filling to the state road are in progress. Furthermore, the cable work for utility companies such as Rewag, Telekom and Bayernwerk has been successfully completed. The traffic lights at the Bruckdorfer Straße/Staatsstraße intersection have been regulating traffic since March, which is crucial during the upcoming asphalt work. It should be noted that access roads, such as those to the Netto or the sports field, must be kept clear during the red phases.

The project to build the roundabout goes back to the local council's plans from 2014 to 2020, and it is no longer possible to move away from the now advanced plans. The total costs of the project amount to over two million euros, of which the municipality of Sinzing is responsible for almost half a million euros. Completion is scheduled for November 2025.

Transport planning in the context of the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan

The creation of the Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan (BVWP) 2030 is based on a comprehensive analysis of around 2,000 project proposals for the expansion and construction of transport infrastructure. This plan includes road, rail and waterway measures that have been assessed for future need. Each project was documented in detail, including a benefit-cost analysis as well as environmental and spatial planning assessments, which are available in the PRINS project information system. The web service for this is at bvwp-projekte.de available.

The construction work in Sinzing is part of this comprehensive planning, which aims to improve the traffic situation in the region. Despite the challenges facing the construction site personnel, the progress of the project is highlighted with thanks to the Brendel construction company and the Wöhrmann engineering firm. The community hopes that the work will progress quickly and smoothly until it is completed as planned.
