Progress in broadband expansion: Pettendorf on the way to the digital future
The municipality of Pettendorf provides information about the current status of fiber optic expansion. The municipal Laaber-Naab-Infrastructure company LNI GmbH is carrying out the measures on behalf of 47 member municipalities. The decision for the expansion was made in April 2021. The infrastructure remains the property of the municipalities. The LNI works closely with the municipalities and finances the expansion proportionately. The funding share is between 80 and 90 percent.
Details about the expansion
The network is leased to network operators. As a result, the invested funds flow back to LNI GmbH in the long term. Before the expansion, a market research process took place for over 26,000 connections. This procedure was the basis for applying for funding. The federal government promised the funding on December 7, 2022. The funding decision for the cluster, which Pettendorf is part of, amounts to 30,750,000 euros.
