New community youth worker Maike Wagner: A breath of fresh air for Pentling

The Pentling community has a new youth worker who will bring a breath of fresh air to youth work. Maike Wagner, 23 years old, will start working after the autumn break and already has big plans for the younger generation in the community.

Originally from Bremen, Maike brings a lot of experience with her. She worked as a volunteer in children and youth work for five years before she began her journey to Canada and Nepal. There she worked in experiential education and educational work with young people. She has been living in Regensburg since 2020 and has completed her studies in social work. Now she is ready to bring her ideas and commitment to Pentling.

Focus on youth

Maike's goal is to create spaces in which young people can develop. She would like to work with young people to develop projects and activities that complement the community's existing offerings. It is important to her that the interests of young people are heard and that they are actively involved in the planning. Respectful interaction and open communication are of great importance to them.

In her free time, Maike is active in sports and has a passion for creative projects, especially upcycling. She is also interested in cultural topics and hopes there will be opportunities to share these hobbies with young people.
