Neutraubling: 5,500 euros for a good cause at the third city run!
The third Neutraubling city run took place in May 2025, in which 963 participants laced up their running shoes. The event was not only a sporting highlight, but also helped support a charitable cause. The collected proceeds of 5,500 euros were handed over to the Rafael association, which has been committed to homeless and needy people in the region since 2018. What is particularly noteworthy is that the amount came from various donation sources: 2,500 euros were donated by the city of Neutraubling, another 2,500 euros from Raiffeisenbank Oberpfalz Süd eG, while the Armin Wolf running team contributed 500 euros.
Dr. Adelheid Burkhart-Reichl accepted the donation on behalf of the Rafael association. This organization not only specializes in providing general medical consultations, but has also been offering dental consultations since 2020. The association's commitment is strengthened through events such as the Neutraubling city run, which is a prime example of a charity run. Such charity events raise awareness of social issues and generate funds for charitable causes.
A successful fundraising run
As in 2024, when 937 participants took part in the city run, it is clear that the event is steadily growing in popularity. For the next event on May 10, 2026, the goal is to have over 1,000 participants in order to achieve an even higher donation amount. Currently, around 440 amateur athletes have already registered for the event, although the “hot phase” of registrations has only just begun.
Fundraising runs, such as the Neutraubling city run, are not only a sporting event, but also an important opportunity for participants to collect donations for charitable organizations. These events, also known as charity or benefit runs, offer various distances, usually ranging from 5 to 10 kilometers, up to marathons. Participants can generate money for a good cause through their participation and improve their fitness at the same time.
There are numerous similar fundraising runs throughout Germany, such as the ZeroHungerRun in Bonn or the London Marathon. Prominent people often take on the patronage of such events, which helps to increase interest. Virtual charity runs, in which participants can complete their routes regardless of a fixed location, are also becoming increasingly popular.
In summary, it can be said that the Neutraubling city run is an excellent example of the potential of sporting events to support charitable causes. The successful organization and the positive response from the participants show how important such actions are for the community. An event that combines both health and social responsibility.
