On Saturday, September 28th, the audience in the Kulturhaus experienced an unforgettable evening when the talented pianists Inna Schur and Eva Herrmann performed their concert “Four Hands on 88 Keys”. The two musicians, who are known in the regional music scene for their exceptional programs, presented an impressive selection of piano music that included both well-known and lesser-known works.
The event was a true festival of sounds that transported listeners into the world of piano music. Schur and Herrmann, who have worked together for many years, demonstrated their skills with a variety of pieces ranging from Romantic to modern music. Particularly noteworthy were “Three Pieces for Four Hands” by Fanny Hensel, the sister of the famous composer Felix Mendelssohn, as well as Suite No. 1 by York Bowen. This selection offered listeners the opportunity to discover the diversity and richness of piano music.
An evening full of emotions and melodies
The performance was not only musical, but also emotional. The pianists managed to captivate the listeners with their fine dynamics and articulation. Particularly noteworthy was the entertaining moderation by Eva Herrmann, who lightened up the evening and explained the pieces in a clear way. The listeners were captivated by the passionate melodies, such as “Romance del plata” by the Argentinian composer Carlos Guastavino, and the swinging rhythms of the “3 Jazz Pieces” by Ulrich Nehls.
To round off the concert, Schur and Herrmann played a passionate tango by the Argentinian composer Saúl Cosentino as an encore. This lively and virtuosic conclusion rounded off the evening perfectly and left a lasting impression on the listeners. The pianists proved once again that they are not only masters of their craft, but are also able to inspire the audience with their art.
