Schönach main street will be completely closed from October 7th!

The main street in Schönach will be completely closed from Tuesday, October 7th, 2025 to Thursday, October 9th, 2025. Like the municipality of Mötzing in a current report reported, the upcoming civil engineering work is the reason for this closure. Residents and public bus transport can only reach Schönach via alternative routes.

The following roads are available for access: the community connection road “Kreuzweg” from Haimbuch and the community connection road “Alte B8” from Rain. The municipality would like to thank residents and road users for their understanding of the inconvenience caused.

Construction work and other measures

The work on Main Street is part of a comprehensive renewal project that began on July 21, 2025 and will last until the end of 2025. During this time, the main street between house number 6 and the junction with Auweg will be completely closed, as will the village street between the junction with the main street and house number 4, where the parish hall is located. However, the passage between the B8 federal highway and the village street over the Pfarrerbrücke should be maintained as far as possible.

Public transport, including school buses, will continue to operate over the Pfarrerbrücke with no changes planned. However, the Meindl disposal service's garbage trucks cannot drive to the construction site area. In order to make disposal easier for affected residents, collection points for garbage cans will be set up. These are located at the following locations:

  • Auweg (Einmündung Stichstraße Hauptstraße)
  • Dorfstraße (beim Pfarrheim)
  • Hauptstraße (Einmündung An der Brennerei)

Residents are advised to bring their rubbish and paper bins to these collection points. In particular, residents of Hauptstrasse 9, 12, 15 and Auweg 2 are asked to reliably transport their bins there on collection days. To avoid confusion after they have been emptied, the garbage cans should be marked. The municipality of Mötzing would once again like to thank the residents for their understanding and patience throughout the entire construction project.
