Regional Days 2025: Experience sustainability in the Regensburg district!
The Regional Days 2025 will take place in the Regensburg district from October 19th to 26th, 2025 under the motto “Regensburg district – moving sustainably”. This event, which has been held annually for over 20 years, aims to present regional strengths such as local products, culture, crafts and services. The launch will take place on October 19, 2025 in Lappersdorf from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a large regional market that will offer a diverse family program and musical entertainment. Further highlights include regional delicacies and presentations of agricultural and handicraft products that are all about sustainability.
This year, special attention is being paid to the anniversary of the “Wildlife Habitat Advisory Service” with appropriate lectures and excursions. Hubert Aiwanger, Deputy Prime Minister and State Minister for Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, will give the keynote speech on the topic of “Species protection through hunting and habitat design”. The initiatives of the regional days should be seen in a context in which the fragility of global supply chains became clear due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the Ukraine conflict, which further highlighted the importance of the regional level, as Umweltbundesamt reports.
A variety of individual events
In addition to the opening event in Lappersdorf, further individual events are planned. These include:
- 19. Oktober: „Im Spital wird’s noch mal, wie es früher war“ in Brennberg (13–18 Uhr)
- 21. Oktober: Workshop zur Montage von Balkon-Solaranlagen im Landratsamt (16–18:30 Uhr)
- 23. Oktober: Aktionstag „Clever Radpendeln“ mit einem Fahrrad-Check, Vorträgen und Lastenradtests im Landratsamt (10–17 Uhr)
- 24. Oktober: Exkursion mit Waldführung und Besichtigung in Hemau (8:30 – 13:30 Uhr)
- 24. Oktober: RegioDinner mit einem 4-Gänge-Menü aus regionalen Bio-Zutaten im Klosterstadel Pielenhofen (ab 18 Uhr)
- 25. Oktober: Geführte Wanderung rund um Walhalla und Donaustauf (15–ca. 19:30 Uhr)
- 26. Oktober: Zwei-Flüsse-Radtour durch den westlichen Landkreis (10–ca. 16 Uhr)
- 26. Oktober: Schnupperwanderungen am Bio-Alpakahof Grundner, inklusive Hofladen-Eröffnung und Kinderprogramm (11–17 Uhr)
