Heat pumps in focus: information evening on October 2nd in the AURELIUM!

The use of heat pumps in existing buildings is becoming increasingly important, especially in view of the current efforts towards the energy transition. The Lappersdorf Climate Advisory Board therefore invites you to an information evening to provide information about the latest developments and possibilities. This will take place on Thursday, October 2nd, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the AURELIUM. The evening will provide a platform to clarify questions about the integration of heat pumps into existing buildings and to exchange specialist information, as Lappersdorf reports.

Heat pumps are no longer limited to new buildings, but are increasingly being used in the modernization of old buildings. This development is multifunctional as heat pumps can be used in single- and multi-family homes as well as in non-residential buildings. According to Fraunhofer ISE, they not only support the defossilization of heat supply, but also enable more efficient use of renewable energies. High-temperature heat pumps are also already used in industrial processes, which underlines their versatility.

Successful information events

Uelzen press can be read, among other things, the requirements for replacing fossil heating systems with heat pumps were discussed, including the need for underfloor heating and building insulation.

Another focus was the presentation of funding and the new legal requirements set by the Heating Act. The event also included practical examples showing the successful use of heat pump technology in old buildings. These findings are particularly important because more than 20 places in Lower Saxony are involved in Heat Pump Week, which took place from September 15th to 23rd and was under the patronage of State Secretary Anka Dobslaw.

Outlook and significance for the future

The integration of heat pumps into existing buildings represents a decisive step towards sustainable energy supply. By making electricity consumption more flexible, heat pumps can not only help stabilize the electricity grid, but also offer economic benefits for homeowners. These advances are not only important for the environment, but also promote technological exchange and understanding of modern heating technologies among citizens.

Given these developments and the upcoming events, it remains to be seen how many homeowners are willing to take the step towards renewable energy and what answers can be given to the remaining questions.
