Timetable revolution for the start of school: New stops in the RVV!

On September 16, 2025, significant timetable changes will come into force in regional bus transport, which will be implemented at the start of the school year. This affects several lines in the Regensburger Verkehrsverbund (RVV), as bernhardswald.de reports. Two new stops will be added to the timetables: The Erlbach Herrenholz stop will be added on line 106, which runs from Lehenfelden via Bernhardswald to Regenstauf. In addition, the Roith stop near Wenzenbach will be integrated into the timetable of line 115, which connects Wenzenbach via Bernhardswald to Nittenau.

For passengers who want to keep an eye on these changes, further information is available via the RVV app or the website rvv.de. Josef Weigl, managing director of the RVV, is also a contact point for questions. He can be reached at the specified telephone number 0941 46319-12 or by email at josef.weigl@gfn-regensburg.de.

Effects of lockdowns

In addition to the fundamental changes, passengers must also expect existing closures that will come into force from September 15, 2025. Regensburger Straße in Lappersdorf will be closed on September 12th, which will affect lines 13 and 142. On September 21st, the closure of the market square in Langquaid will affect line 25. Furthermore, St 2394 in Sinzing will be closed between September 29th and October 3rd, 2025, which will affect several lines such as 26, 27 and 127. The “Hemau Stadtplatz” and “Hemau Förderschule” stops are particularly affected on September 21st, while the “Weiße Marter” stop in Wenzenbach cannot be reached from September 15th to October 19th, 2025.

When it comes to local transport in Regensburg, the city aims to reduce environmental impact through sustainable transport solutions. According to regensburg.de, the RVV offers comprehensive timetable information, as well as information about diversions and existing lines. In this context, the introduction of the free old town bus “EMIL” in April 2025 is worth mentioning, which represents an environmentally friendly alternative.

The Schwandorf-Regensburg railway line was closed from June 15th to August 22nd this year due to construction work, while future general renovations by Deutsche Bahn AG are planned from 2026. These developments contribute to improving the infrastructure in the Regensburg urban area and are intended to make rail transport more efficient. This includes, among other things, the long-distance bus stop at the main train station, which is important for national and international long-distance bus services.
