On September 25th, 2025, reference will be made to the upcoming 21st Diocesan Creation Day in the diocese of Regensburg, which will take place on Saturday, September 27th, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. in Beratzhausen. Under the motto “broadly spread. Fruit, flowers, seasonal vegetables. Regional biodiversity” participants can expect a diverse program that focuses in particular on ecological and sustainable topics. According to Beratzhausen, the event is an important platform for exchange about environmental protection and regional products.
Creation Day begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Zehntstadel with greetings and greetings. The highlight of the morning will be a keynote speech by Prof. Hubert Weiger, honorary chairman of BUND Nature Conservation. This is followed by an ecumenical lunchtime prayer under the fruit trees, which is intended to offer participants a spiritual break.
Diverse program
The program includes numerous activities that combine both informative and creative elements. Participants can look forward to open space discussions at information stands as well as excursions to dry slopes, the Hohenfels church forest and stepping stones in fields. A creative photography workshop and a spiritual walk are also offered to strengthen the connection with nature. In addition, over 20 nature conservation initiatives and church environmental protection groups are involved, offering hands-on activities and offerings to stimulate practical and creative lifestyles.
There are special children's activities for the youngest visitors, such as making harvest wreaths, while the entire program is also open to onlookers. The cost of participating in Creation Day is 15 euros per person; children under 12 can participate free of charge. In the event of inclement weather, alternative venues will be provided at the primary school. The midday service will then be held in the parish church, and lunch and the conclusion will take place in the parish hall.
