Power outage in the town hall: accessibility is severely restricted until November 7th!
On October 31, 2025 it was announced that the Taunusstein town hall would be taken off the power grid for several hours from 10:00 a.m. on November 7th in order to carry out modernization work by REWAG. No computer work will be possible during this time. This applies in particular to applications for ID cards, passports, certificates of good conduct as well as residence registrations, de-registrations and re-registrations, the purchase of RVV tickets, business registrations and the issuance of registration certificates. The town hall will also not be available by telephone from 10 a.m. The city asks for your understanding of the restrictions. This is reported by barbing.de.
A recent power outage in the Taunusstein town hall, which was reported on Wednesday, was less encouraging. Due to damaged power cables during renovation work on the underground car park, there were significant disruptions to the technical infrastructure. The central server had to be shut down for security reasons, which meant that the telephone system and the e-mail communication of the town hall employees could not be reached. This information comes from a report by taunusstein.de.
Accessibility restored
After extensive repair work, the city is giving the cautious all-clear regarding the accessibility of the town hall. According to a message from taunusstein.de, telephone and digital accessibility has now largely been restored. The south wing of the town hall, including the server room, remained operational during the repair work, allowing the fire alarm system to be reactivated immediately.
Although accessibility has largely been restored, work on the northern part of the building is still ongoing and is expected to be completed by Thursday. It is emphasized that further short-term restrictions must be expected in the coming days. The city thanks citizens for their patience during this time and is striving to ensure that all technical systems are fully functional by March 28th.
