Participate for more cohesion: Citizen survey in Bavaria's rural regions

September 16, 2024

What is the state of social cohesion in rural areas of Bavaria and what suggestions do citizens have to promote it?

An exciting research project at the Nuremberg University of Technology aims to find out exactly that. By 2026, the strength of social ties in rural regions will be examined throughout Bavaria. This project, which is supported by the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance and Homeland, invites all citizens to actively participate in an online survey.

Invitation to participate

The survey is aimed at everyone who lives in communities that are classified as rural areas in the Bavarian State Development Plan (LEP). The first survey that looked at local social relationships took place last year. The results of this first survey are on the project website www.heimatprojekt-bayern.de visible. Now the second survey is coming up, which focuses on the solidarity within the communities.

Participation in this survey is possible from September 14th to October 14th, 2024. Anyone interested can contribute their opinions and ideas via a link on the project website. But why should you take the time to participate? The results of this research will be important not only for citizens, but also for politics. They help to better understand and promote social cohesion in rural areas.

The findings from the survey will be systematically evaluated and published on the project website so that everyone has the opportunity to find out about developments and understand the results.
