Neumarkter Straße will be completely closed for repairs from September 10th!
On September 9th, 2025, Neumarkter Straße in Postbauer-Heng will be completely closed from tomorrow until October 24th, 2025. The closure takes place in the area of Blumenaustraße 38 and is used to urgently repair the district heating pipeline. The city administration asks residents and road users to understand the associated restrictions and inconveniences resulting from the necessary work.
In the weeks before this full closure, Neumarkter Straße was already completely closed from September 3rd to 6th, 2024. This previous measure was necessary to work on a house connection for water and sewer. The aim of these measures was to improve the infrastructure and ensure a water supply for the residents. At the same time, it became apparent how important it is to plan such work well and to inform road users in a timely manner.
Detours and planning
Road users will need to use alternative routes during the full closure as both car and pedestrian traffic will be affected. Diversion routes will be set up and clearly signposted so that traffic disruptions are as minimal as possible. The city administration points out that residents and road users should follow the signposted detours to avoid traffic jams.
These comprehensive infrastructural measures are part of a larger trend resulting from the changing framework conditions of energy, heat and water supply. According to an analysis by the German Institute for Standardization (DIFU), the social infrastructure is changing. The uncertainty about the future development of public technical and social supply and disposal infrastructures is important for urban planning and the everyday mobility of citizens.
Effective urban development therefore requires not only short-term solutions such as current repairs, but also long-term strategies to better assess development and future needs. The documentation and analysis of future-oriented practical examples is of considerable importance in order to understand the effects and interactions of these developments on the urban infrastructure.
