Benefit concert inspires: variety of music in the Christ Church

Once again the city of Sulzbach-Rosenberg showed its musical side. The benefit concert, which was organized by VR-Bank Amberg-Sulzbach, attracted numerous visitors to the Christ Church. The Bergknappenkapelle, known for its diverse brass music, performed together with the gospel choir “Voices of Joy” and ensured an unforgettable evening.

Under the direction of city music director Stefan Frank, around 30 musicians from the Bergknappenkapelle presented a varied program. Listeners could look forward to a mix of different musical styles, including foxtrot, march and even modern pop music from Italy as well as hits from Neue Deutsche Welle. This diversity made the concert a special experience for everyone present.

Gospel choir and young orchestra

The gospel choir “Voices of Joy” from the Christ Church also contributed to the festive atmosphere. Under the direction of Dean's Office Gerd Henneke, the singers presented three rousing songs that thrilled the audience. Henneke himself contributed an impressive organ piece that further enriched the program.

Another highlight of the evening was the performance of the junior orchestra of the Bergknappenkapelle. With their four pieces of music, the fourteen young talents showed how much joy making music together can bring. Their enthusiasm was contagious and was rewarded with huge applause.

The concert concluded traditionally with the Steigermarsch, a popular piece that symbolizes the connection to the region's mining history. But the Bergknappenkapelle had even more to offer: two encores were enthusiastically received by the audience and rounded off the evening perfectly.
