Illschwang loses coffee roasting company and postal agency: farewell after 8 years

The coffee roasting and postal agency in Illschwang is closing this year. The last opportunity to use the postal agency's offers is on Monday, October 28th. The coffee roastery will then be open for the last time on Saturday, November 23rd.

Desire for home

The operators,AndreyandClaudia Janzen, return to their northern German homeland. In a conversation with press representativesAndreyhis feelings: “We are homesick for our northern German homeland.” Both have their roots near Hamburg.

Professional career

Andreylearned the profession of coffee roaster and has worked in this area since 2001.Claudiapreviously worked for a company that sold coffee machines for the catering industry. In 2007 they founded the coffee roasting company in Illschwang together.

A new location

The Janzens found a suitable house on Bergstrasse in 2016. After a few renovations, they opened their coffee roastery in 2017.Mayor Dieter Dehlingwas pleased with the new offering in the community. “This unusual offer also means an upgrade for the community,” saysDehling.

Expansion of the offer

In September 2022, Deutsche Post opened an agency in the coffee roasting plant.AndreyandClaudiasaw this as an opportunity to expand their customer base. They were also involved in the community, including in the shooting club and the horticultural club.

Farewell to Illschwang

The move to near Flensburg will be completed at the end of 2023.Andreywill continue to operate its coffee roasting business there. The departure represents a loss for the region. “There will be no more coffee roasting operations,” explainsAndrey.
