Aichach-Friedberg driving license office: Appointments are mandatory from September

From September 2, 2024, the driving license office of the Aichach-Friedberg district office will change its processes. In the future, a personal visit will only be possible with a prior appointment.

Citizens can conveniently book their appointments online via the district office website. For those who would like to drop by spontaneously, there is the option to reserve an appointment using a tablet in front of the driving license office, provided there are still places available. In addition, special times are set aside for spontaneous visits every day from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and on Mondays and Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Digital offers and application processes

The district office points out that many services can also be used online. For example, the mandatory exchange of driving licenses and international driving licenses can be applied for completely digitally. Even picking up your new driving license can be done without a personal visit to the district office. The digital application options are to be further expanded in the near future. Another note concerns the direct delivery of driving licenses. When applying for a new driving license, for example when exchanging an old paper driving license or for a replacement driving license due to theft, applicants can choose direct delivery. This means that the new driver's license is delivered directly to your home for a small additional charge, eliminating the need for a visit to the district office and the associated appointment.

It is important that when exchanging a driver's license, the old paper driver's license should only be limited to four months if direct shipping is desired. There should be no time limit when picking up on site.
