Complete closure in Mering: Marktlauf causes traffic changes on September 29th

On Sunday, September 29, 2024, part of the town center of Mering will be completely closed for the 27th Meringer Marktlauf. The closure will begin at 10 a.m. and is expected to last until approximately 2 p.m. This running event attracts many participants and spectators, which leads to the necessary restrictions on road traffic.

The affected streets and sections will not be passable for the duration of the event. Residents living in these areas will be notified of the exact details by mail next week. It is important that all residents prepare for the closure to avoid any inconvenience.

Details about the running route and detour

The running route starts and ends at Badanger. The participants run along Josef-Scherer-Straße to Paarbrücke, over Färbergasse and Färberberg, then over Augsburger Straße and Schäfflerberg to Bouttevillestraße. From there it goes via Münchener Straße into Rosengasse back to Badanger. Friedenaustraße is not part of the running route.

In order to ensure the safety and navigability of the diversion route, an absolute ban on stopping (sign 283) will be set up in the affected areas. This stopping ban applies from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The diversion takes you via Kirchstrasse, Meringerzeller Strasse, Luitpoldstrasse, Bahnhofstrasse and Münchener Strasse.

The local transport association (AVV) was informed about the closure and has set up replacement stops for the buses on Kirchstrasse. Residents should note that it is not possible to drive in or out of the closed area during the closure. Anyone who wants to use their vehicle between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. should park it outside the affected area well before the closure.

However, there are exceptions for emergencies. In unforeseeable situations, an exit can be made via certain junctions such as Augsburger Straße/Färbergasse, Münchener Straße/Rosengasse and Bouttevillestraße/Friedenaustraße. In such cases, residents should contact the fire department or public works department for assistance.

Visitors to the Caritas St. Agnes Senior Center can arrive via Kirchstrasse, Gärtnerstrasse and Jägerberg to avoid the closure. It is recommended that you find out the best routes in advance to ensure a smooth visit.
