Bahnhofstrasse and Schulstrasse: Important construction work begins in Aichach

The city of Aichach provides information about upcoming road construction measures. These concern Bahnhofstrasse and Schulstrasse with Harthofstrasse and Schützenstrasse. The measures are part of a comprehensive restructuring plan.

Redesign of Bahnhofstrasse

A section of Bahnhofstrasse was renovated in 2018. The remaining section is now being rebuilt. This extends from the roundabout on Franz-Beck-Straße to the roundabout on Donauwörther Straße. The work begins with replacing the water pipe. The first construction phase is around 140 meters long and starts on Monday, September 9, 2024. During this process, around 10 house connections will also be replaced.

Crossing the flood ditch is necessary because the water pipe in this area runs directly next to the flood ditch bridge. The new plan envisages laying the water pipe below the bridge structure. The insertion is carried out using horizontal directional drilling.

The road will be closed to motorized traffic from September 9th to the end of October 2024. Traffic is being rerouted. The diversion leads from Augsburger Straße via Werlberger Straße, Martinstraße and Gerhauser Straße to Donauwörther Straße and vice versa. Pedestrians and cyclists can still use the area, but must dismount and push. The station remains accessible as a dead end from Donauwörther Straße.

The Heisserer company from Kissing is carrying out the work. The local construction management is the responsibility of Mayr Ingenieure from Untergriesbach. Residents are asked to keep disruptions as low as possible.

New construction of Schulstrasse with Harthofstrasse and Schützenstrasse

The new expansion of Schulstrasse will begin on October 21, 2024. Water pipe work is also pending here. Parts of the road will be closed, but access for residents will remain possible. The work on Schulstrasse is scheduled to last until around September 19, 2025. The work on Harthofstrasse and Schützenstrasse is planned until around May 9, 2025.

Access to the properties must be agreed individually with the construction company. Water shut-offs may occur during renovation. Residents will be informed in good time. The waterworks recommends replacing old house connection pipes as a precaution to avoid water damage. The property owner bears the costs from the property boundary.
